The room, and the staff.

Well, none of the saunas worked, and there was no sign of what to do with it.

Room was good value for money.

A deposit for the cost of the room was put on the credit card I used to reserve. When it came time to pay I would have preferred that the deposit on the credit card be canceled, and that I be allowed to pay the whole bill in cash. The hotel seemed unable to facilitate this rather simple and straightforward request.

Wanted to charge for late check out. Being charged for city tax.

They double booked one of our rooms with the result being they did not have availability the first night on our arrival. One of my party had to stay in another hotel which was very inconvienient.

Lobby is nice (4 star), nice bar, small pool but nice enough, very nice elaborate breakfast for Dutch standards.

Superior rooms are not superior at all but standard and very outdated in bad need of refurbishment. Fans in room don´t work (we had 3 rooms and none worked), no airco so make sure you have a room where the window opens (1st floor they don´t) Window frames were so old and rotten they fell apart when we opened them. Lots of noise on the street side all night so had a hard time sleeping.

Access to sauna and swimming facilities. We arrived at the hotel and they were very accommodating by giving us a room early

The hotel was a regular standard hotel. The 4 star rating is rather exaggerated. Staff were quite avoidant in terms of returning to clean the room if one was in it when they first called. We had to ask for basics like toilet roll to be replaced. On the one occasion when the chamber maid was pressganged into the room to clean up she washed a glass I had just used in the bathroom sink with no soap.

A few little things, the hallways were a bit smelly, toilet run out of toilet paper, something that shouldn't really happen in a 4-star hotel.
